SUMMER 2022 - ARBORIST TRAINEE INTERNSHIP DAVEY TREE RESIDENTIAL & COMMERCIAL SERVICES OAKLAND, CA **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** is looking for exceptional students who are interested in expanding their field experience in the areas of Tree Care, Plant Health Care, Sales and Client Services.
STARTING DATE:
Flexible - We are currently looking for Internship candidates for Spring/Summer 2022. Internship generally start in June and run through August.
LOCATION:
Oakland/San Ramon, CA (San Francisco Bay Area) HOURS:
40-50 hours per week. A typical schedule is 40-50 hours per week, Monday-Friday with some Saturdays. Davey Tree offers paid internships, where overtime may be offered on Saturdays.
OBJECTIVES:
Introduce career orientated students to exceptional opportunities in the industry including tree care, tree climbing, chainsaw use, plant health care and customer service. Internships in each division may vary in length depending on availability. Interns will be assigned a manager who will mentor them through a variety of job experiences within the industry. Throughout your experience, you will work on residential and commercial properties and in an office setting.
POSITION AND ENVIRONMENT:
IF YOU LOVE WORKING OUTDOORS, THIS PHYSICALLY DEMANDING POSITION MAY BE FOR YOU.
Students will be introduced to training and direct work participation in the areas of tree surgery, pest management, tree fertilization, lawn care, sales and customer service, along with exposure to support services of scheduling, routing and client billing/records. These modules may vary in length of time and not fall in a set sequence or be intermittent in duration, depending upon weather, work scheduling and the student's proficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS:
*Studying Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry or related discipline *Driver's license is a plus
EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
*THIS IS AN OUTDOOR BASED, PHYSICALLY DEMANDING, HANDS-ON POSITION *Must have enthusiasm for proper plant care and arboriculture *Positive attitude and willingness to learn *Demonstrated ability to report for work regularly and punctually *Collaboration and communication skills
